About Flo Foxworthy
Flo Foxworthy has been pursuing her childhood dream of making elaborate costumes for almost 30 years. She has worked on a variety of projects ranging from superhero suits for blockbuster films to heavily embellished stage costumes for some of the world's most celebrated showgirls.
Showgirl costumes
Since 1998 Flo has been making costumes for dancers, and is well known for making some of the best G strings in the business.
From 2007 - 2019 Flo made her name creating costumes for burlesque performers, and her costumes have graced stages around the world.
Flo re-opened her showgirl boutique in late 2025.
Outside of the costume workroom, Flo's interests include weaving, travel, visiting museums and learning about textile-focused handcrafts.
Film costumes
Flo is the former head of the Costume department at the Academy Award-winning special effects company Wētā Workshop, where she and her team made specialty costumes for films such as Avatar: The Way of Water, Ghost in the Shell, The Hobbit Trilogy, Thor: Love & Thunder and more.
Currently working as a freelance costumer in New Zealand and around the world, Flo has a particular interest in pattern cutting for specialty costumes and the costume cross-over between physical and digital worlds.
